School Council

At Westbrook Lane Primary School, we feel it is important that the children have a say in how their school is run. Our school council is made up of two representatives from each class from Years 2 to 6. These children were voted by their peers because they are considered to be good role models and a good voice for each child in their class.

During our school council meetings, we discuss many matters from issues in the school, fundraising and ways to improve our school. The school council feedback to their class and take suggestions from their peers to raise at future meetings.

The school council have been involved in reviewing our school behaviour policy, designing new equipment for the trim trail and voting on equipment to use during play time.

In February 2020, our Year 4 and 5 school councillors spent the day at Leeds Civic Hall finding out about work of Leeds City Council and the Lord Mayor.
