Welcome to Westbrook Lane Primary School.
We are a warm, family‑centred school at the heart of the Horsforth community where every child and family matter to us.
At Westbrook Lane, everything we do is shaped by our vision of Caring Hearts, Curious Minds, Confident Individuals. This guides our approach to teaching and learning, the relationships we build and the experiences we offer every child.
We are proud to be a happy, inclusive school where children feel safe, valued and inspired to succeed. Our dedicated staff work closely together to provide a rich, engaging curriculum that sparks curiosity, nurtures creativity and supports children to develop the knowledge and skills needed for the next stage of their learning.
We are additionally proud of our school grounds, which feature a carefully maintained and beautiful pond and wildlife area that offers all children with hands-on experiences in the natural world. This unique space enriches our curriculum and supports outdoor learning, scientific exploration and the development of curiosity, care and respect for the environment.
We believe strongly in the power of partnership. Working together with families, governors, the PTA and our wider community enable us to create opportunities that help every child thrive, not just academically, but personally and socially. Children play an active role in the life of the school, through many Pupil Voice groups including Buddies, School Council and Eco-Committee members.
Whether you are already part of our school family or visiting our website for the first time, I hope our website give you a sense of the warmth, enthusiasm and pride that make Westbrook Lane such a special place to learn and grow.
